Search a narrow date range first, then verify the resulting booking with the jail or record-holding agency.
A date search is more useful than an unrestricted name search when the event is recent. Names can be shared, misspelled, or entered with a different form. Compare the booking number, approximate age, arrest date, and arresting agency where those fields are displayed. Do not treat a photograph as identity proof. The portal is configurable, so a field seen on one card may not appear on another. Save the incident or case number before leaving the result because that number is the cleanest bridge to the agency report and later OJD filing.
Arrest Records: What They Contain
An arrest record can mean an agency report or a booking entry. The agency report may include probable-cause facts and evidence references. The jail record focuses on intake and custody. Protected personal data, victim details, juvenile information, medical facts, and active-investigation material may be withheld or redacted.

A full agency report may also state the event location, officer, warrant number, probable-cause narrative, and referenced evidence. Request that report from the agency that made or investigated the arrest.

Under Oregon Public Records Law, an agency generally acknowledges a written request within five business days and then completes it as soon as practicable or provides an estimated date, subject to statutory rules. Active cases and protected data can be redacted. Ask for segregable public portions rather than assuming one exemption closes the whole file.
From Umatilla Booking to OSP
At booking, fingerprints help Oregon State Police CJIS associate the arrest with an existing state identification file or establish one.
